Salvadorean Liga MB round 8 best performance: Chase Berry

American Forward Chase Berry (198-F-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Cojute, receiving a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 35 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Metapan (#3, 4-1) 100-85. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Cojute is placed at 4th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. Cojute is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Berry had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Cojute, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Utah Tech University star has very solid stats this year. Berry is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 12.0rpg) and averages impressive 55.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Nicaraguan Deikel Sanchez (G-1996) of Metapan. Sanchez had a very good evening with a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Metapan lost that game 85-100 to slightly lower-ranked Cojute (#4, 3-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Metapan still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. It was just his team's 1st loss this season, while they won 4 other games. Sanchez is one of the most experienced players at Metapan and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.2ppg (#8). He also registered 13.4 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Marcus Feagin (193-G-1991) of Santa Ana (#9). Feagin scored 23 points and grabbed twenty rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Santa Ana, leading his team to a 96-89 win against the higher-ranked Santiagueno (#6, 2-3). The chances of Santa Ana not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Feagin could try to bring Santa Ana's a little bit higher in the standings. The season just started for Feagin as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
